SAND & SURF WAR III SITE HAS BEEN RELOCATED DUE TO SNOW!!!

THE NEW SITE IS LOCATED AT FULLBRIGHT PARK IN UNION GAP, WASHINGTON. (THIS IS THE SAME SITE USED FOR WAR CROWN IN SEPTEMBER) SORRY NO STREET ADDRESS! LOOK FOR SCA SIGNS!

DIRECTIONS TO NEW SITE:

(FROM SEATTLE, SPOKANE, ETC..)TAKE I-90 TOWARDS ELLENSBURG, WASHINGTON. TAKE EXIT I-82 TO YAKIMA/UNION GAP. TAKE THE VALLEY MALL BLVD EXIT INTO UNION GAP AND TAKE A RIGHT. CONTINUE TO MAIN STREET AND TAKE A LEFT. CONTINUE ON MAIN STREET, THRU UNION GAP(STAY IN THE LEFT HAND LANE) GO UP ON TO THE OVERPASS AT THE END OF MAIN STEET AND TAKE THE RIGHT INTO FULLBRIGHT PARK.LOOK FOR THE SCA SIGNS.

(FROM TRI-CITIES, ETC…)TAKE I-82 TOWARDS YAKIMA, TAKE VALLEY MALL BLVD EXIT, FOLLOW DIRECTIONS TO SITE GIVEN ABOVE

SITE IS VERY DISCRETELY WET. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN PLAIN SITE.
WATER IS LIMITED SO IT IS STILL ADVISED TO BRING SOME WITH YOU.

The Shire of Vulkanfeldt
For the third time, The Shire of Vulkanfeldt will host a WAR between the
Sand (The Inlands Area) and the Surf (The Puget Sound Area). The WAR will
be held the second weekend of April, the 12th thru the 14th.
The WAR will be held 14 miles outside of Ellensburg, WA at a private
campground on Taneum Creek Canyon Road. The site will open at 12:00pm on
Friday and close at 3:00 PM on Sunday afternoon. Saturday, armor
inspection will begin at 11:30am with the WAR beginning at 12:30am. WAR
points will be awarded for the battles in the WAR, children’s archery, a
rapier tourney, best period dish using fish and/or seafood , best dressed
dog, best period looking encampment and other points T.B.A. Hound
Coursing Demo planned for Saturday as well as a Bardic Saturday night!
There will be a soup kitchen Friday night for weary travelers. Donations
of food are always welcome. Site is wet. There is a small creek on site
so PARENTS WATCH YOUR CHILDREN! No water on site, bring your own. Plan
for low temperatures at night! No ground fires, fire pans 18″ off the
ground. All AnTir and mundane laws and rules will be in effect.
R.V ‘ers welcome, contact the Autocrat.
We will need volunteers! Water bearers, heralds, gate trolls, marshals,
etc….Please contact the Autocrat if you can help out!
Site Fee is $10.00 for Adults (13+), $5.00 for children (7-12) and free
for those 5 and under. Modern Family Cap of $27.00 Make checks out to

DIRECTIONS: Make your best route to Thorp, WA on I-90 ( 6 miles west of
Ellensburg, WA) Take exit #101, go south on Thorp Hwy. for 1/2 mile. Turn
right onto Thorp Cemetery Road and go 4.8 miles, you will pass a
cemetery. Thorp Cemetery Road turns into West Taneum Road. After crossing
the cattle guard, go 2.8 miles (past the ” end of county road” sign). The
site will be on your left, sorry- no street address – Look for the SCA signs!
