Octoberfest: Toys for
Tots Championship

 

The Barony of Wealdsmere
would like to invite YOU to join us in food, friendship and
fun.

We will have our annual
Heavy and Rapier tournaments, as well as an Arts &
Sciences contest to support the Marines and the Toys for Tots
toy drive. Tournament/contest entry fee is a new, unwrapped
toy that a child might enjoy receiving on Christmas
morning.

Arts & Sciences contest
will have several categories: Youth, Novice (never entered a
contest before, minimal documentation required), and Advanced
(good
documentation required)

The Barony will be
providing a warm stew for lunch, and a main course for the
evening feast.

The feast will be potluck.
If your name starts with:

A-G: please bring some kind
of appetizer (eg. cheese & crackers, chips & dip,
veggies)

H-R: please bring a side
dish (eg. potato salad, baked beans, rice)

S-Z: please bring a dessert
or sweet dish (eg. fruit, tarts, cookies)

Exceptions are, of course,
allowed, as there will be prizes for “Best Period
Food”, and for “Best Food, period”, so
bring your best! Please make sure your dish is enough for at
least 10 people to share.

Minimal documentation
required for “Best Period Food” (eg a copy of the
recipe in original language may suffice)

We also plan to have games,
medieval dancing, and bardic activities throughout the
day.

Prepayment is not required,
but pre-registration is requested via email or phone to the
autocrat below.

Schedule is roughly as follows:
10:00AM: site opens/lists open
11:00AM: tourneys begin (heavy, rapier, games)
1:00PM: Lunch is served
4:00PM Dancing
6:00PM Feast
8:00PM Court
10:00PM Site closes
