Octoberfeast/Toys for Tots

The Barony of Wealdsmere
proudly invites you to attend our annual Oktoberfeast and Toys for
Tots Tournament!  Please come join us at the Universal
Unitarian Church for a day of fun and frolic! Help us celebrate the
Harvest with bountiful food and joyous friendship. We promise you a
day of tournaments, dancing, delicious foods and glorious
occupation! Come dance with the Marines! We humbly ask that you
help us collect toys for that most Worthy organization Toys for
Tots, that we may grant a Merry Christmas for children in
need.

As always we will give all
comers the opportunity to fight for honor and glory in the areas of
Heavy Combat, Rapier Combat, Games, Bardic and Arts and
Sciences.

Donation Derby: Make 6
items to donate for largess. Vote is populace choice. Winner gets
one of everything, the rest goes to Baronial Largess
chest.

The Event is family
friendly. There will be Youth and Parent activities throughout the
day. 

Back by Popular Demand:
Frugal SCAdian garment contest! Create and entire SCA ensemble for
under $25. The winner last year created a beautiful outfit with
accessories for under $25! She will be hard to beat! Walk the
runaway with your best strut!

more) unwrapped toy to help the US Marine  Toys-for-Tots
program to provide Gifts for Children that may not have a Merry
Christmas without this service

A Hunting Lunch (handpies,
cheeses and fruit tarts) will be served free with paid
feast.

A bounteous and tasty
English Feast is being prepared to delight your senses.

Merchants Fees: Merchants
are welcome. A donation of a $5 (or more) unwrapped toy is
requested in lieu of a fee for all merchants. Unlimited merchants
welcome and you will have table space in the middle of all the
activities this year!

Site Information: Site is
wet. Smoking allowed in outside designated smoking area ONLY. All
cigarette butts must be placed in proper
receptacle. 

Site: adults $ 7 
(kids 12 and under Free.)

Feast: adults $10 (kids 12
and under $5) Babies (2 and under) Free.

Total cost for an adult
member for site and feast: $ 22 ($17 with member
discount)

Feast Fee includes
LUNCH!

show up at 9, you help set-up!) and merchants

Opening Court: 10:00-10:30ish

Armor Inspection: immediately after
court – rapier and hard suit; (Outdoors)

A&S open: immediately after court
– please have entry in by 1pm (Fellowship Hall)

Gaming opens: immediately after court

outside!)

11:00am-noon Japanese Persona in the

Lunch:

A Hunting Party Luncheon

A meal fit for the King’s hunting party as
they enjoy a country afternoon of hunting, games and other past
times. Designed to be easily portable for a party on the move.

Sausage and Apple pastys (small turnover like
pies)

Chicken and sage pastys

Mushroom pastys

Fruit tarts

And a selection of cheeses

Feast:

On each table:

Breads

Butters

Salt

Sweets – (Displayed on a sideboard throughout
the meal)

Potus Ypocras – wine mulled with honey and
spices

A soteltie – it’s a surprise

Gyngerbrede

Molded sugar candies

Cakes with warm fruit and caramel sauce

Cheese / crackers / fresh fruit

First course

Vegetable Soup

Cheese tart

Onion crisps

Second Course

Chickenes Endoryed – roasted chicken, served
with orange sauce

Makerouns – egg noodles and cheese baked

Haricot Verts

Gourdes in Potage – baked squash

Third Course

Roasted Pork tenderloin with 3 sauces (cherry,
raisin and camelyn) on the side.

Caboges Yfryed – (both w/bacon and onions and
without)
