Greetings one and all,

It’s time for war on the High Desert. Come to Corvaria for the repeat inaugural Murder in the Desert; it is the quintessential all-day (or at least very long) resurrection war and much more. Bring your troops and a treasure to defend. The war scenario pits landed troops (this means armored combat teams) against each other defending and attacking on our staged Summits map. The combat victors are those who have the most “treasure” at the end of the fighting. If you aren’t keen on rattan fighting, you can earn points for your team by vying for the Corvarian championships (rapier, youth archery, archery, & rattan), volunteering, taking classes, participating in an archery novelty shoot (loaner gear available), competing in scribal arts, bocce ball, or bean bag throwing. The Corvarian Defender will depend on the number of fighters. It will either be Alliance by Conquest OR round robin 2 out of 3 for each pairing, most wins wins. We are still working on adding elements to the schedule, so other opportunities for earning points may present themselves. If you don’t have a team when you arrive, we will create a team for you. Everyone will be included. Saturday is a potluck feast where bards can perform to earn points for their team. Of course you can always bring what you like, but if you want some guidelines: A-H bring a main dish, I-N bring a side dish, O-T bring some sort of salad, U-Z bring a dessert. Things to bring: yourself and your joy, something to share at potluck, something to contribute to the treasure chest. The weather forecast for Saturday is a pleasant high of 77 F during the day and a low of 46 F at night. Please plan to pay with cash or checks; we aren’t set up for any other payment styles.
