One day, Saturday, of equestrian classes, both of the riding and non-riding variety. Followed by a challenge course on Sunday for the enjoyment of all and the prize of medieval leather reins. There will be a short patron court to award the winning rider their prize. practice time sunday afternoon.

Site fee: $5.00, no extra fees for horses

Site opens Sat. 9 am Classes start at 10am, lunch 1-2pm, classes end at 6pm. Sun. – Challenge course starts at 10 am. Site closes at 3pm.

Bring drinking water and lunch. Nearest food is a couple miles away. Please pack out garbage.

Classes – (of the non-riding variety):

  • How to brush and saddle a horse (hands on) – taught by Mistress Kerij-e
    The basic steps you need to know, whether you rent or borrow a horse.

  • Are horses period? taught by Mistress Kerij-e
  • Bringing your horse to an event taught by Mistress Kerij-e
    What you need to know about camping with your horse at an SCA event: what to expect, what to bring, and how to have a good time!

  • Introducing a new horse or rental to SCA equestrian games
  • Don’t want to ride, but like horses – have we got a job for you, Ground crew – a learn on the job class!
  • Medieval garb for horses taught by Aeschine
    Quick and easy ways to dress your horse, and a brief history of barding.

  • How to autocrat an event with horses taught by Mistress Kerij-e
    Learn the important details about having horse activities at your event. We’ll discuss insurance, advertising, equestrian marshalls, boarding, venues and all those little details.

  • What is an equestrian marshall taught by Sir Rapheal the Rogue
    Learn what skills and knowledge are needed to become an equestrian marshall.

  • Intro to equestrian games

Now for the riding classes:
Classes will be conducted as a clinic with both mounted – unmounted students, unlimited. You can learn a lot by watching and asking questions. The classes will be focusing on tips and techniques to improve your score. Each class will focus on a particular game.

  • Heads

    No rental horses, sorry.
    Limited room for horses to stay overnight. Horse owners must provide their own paddocks. Horses only will be allowed to stay on site overnight – Non-camping site.

    There is a private campground less than a mile from the site, has both RV and tent camping – Issaquah Highlands Camping Club – 425-392-2351

    Non-potable water, water for horses is available on site. Please clean up all manure.!!!

    Limited parking, please carpool.

    Volunteers needed to help with the event.
