Lord Defenders – Competitions for many of the Baronial Champions

Come take classes, Shop, Fight and FEAST!

Come and test you prowess and Skill ane perhaps become the New Champion of Blatha An Oir!

When you are thoroughly Spent- PREPARE TO FEAST!!!
Site opens at 9am! If you are willing to help with set up please arrive at 9am! And Site closes at 10pm.
There will be no camping as this is a Day Trip only Fee: 25$ non member 20$ member. Kids under 17 free.  The site has real flushable bathrooms,  and a building at our disposal for classes and feast. Also a small kitchen as well.
Please bring a dish to share and provide an ingredient card so that any with allergies may be safe!

We request that you consider the sensitivity of others and don’t wear perfumes, heavily scented deodorant, colognes, or body sprays. These things trigger migraines in the Baroness and we wish her to be able to attend the event.

Smoking will be in a marked area and will only be allowed in that marked area, if you are seen smoking outside that area, we will request you put it out and move to smoking area. Cigarette smoke is migraine triggering.

Foods for the potluck will need to be clearly marked with a ingredient card.

Protein Provided:

Chicken legs and thighs Seasoned with Himalayan Sea Salt (Pink, non Iodised),Pepper, Garlic powder, Onion powder Roasted on pellet smoker with the Kirkland blend of pellets, mild hickory flavor.
There will be hints of smoke infused in the meat but, it will not be a heavy smoke.
POTLUCK STYLE : Please bring a Dish and Provide a Recipe card so that people may know what they are consuming- Consideration for allergies!
Bring your Feast Gear and drinks!

Our Current Grand Rapier Champion Don Samuel McTavish Presents the following challenges to all Rapiers:  Rapier accolade tournament ( Fight style is openBystanders/court watches the fights and asks questions and votes) B&B get chance for Q&A for their candidates and use that to help select their rapier champion. Come prepared to fight but also to speak with the Baron and Baroness and Populace!
Our Current Lord Defender Berwyn: Presents the following Challenge to all heavies!
Lord Defender-AS LVIII
Good Gentles it is time once again to decide who will be the next Lord Defender in a contest of arms to prove your prowess and your chivalry, for the honor of defending our fair barony.
The format will be as follows:
  • Battle Dice;
  • 2 weapon
  • weapon and shield
  • great weapon
  • At the Barrier(option)
  • Double elimination

I encourage everyone to bring your assorted weapons, bucklers, shields and your full gauntlets. I will bring mine. 😊 Oh, and this is House Harfleur so, the tournament will be La Plaisance. There will be no thrusting.

Our Grand Champion of Thrown Weapons is in absentia thus Pheaduex has offered up: A Challene to Throw all the things!! Knives, Axes and Spears Shall be thrown to test your skills and become Champion!
Our Grand Archery Chamion Baroness Shauna Kerr of Devonshire : Presents the Following Challenge- Archery-These are the points: there will be a single target with advancing firing line for a royal round. Variety of mystery fun shoots for added points. ALSO there will be a range set up for youth.

  • Bard Champoin Lady Æffe Michælesdohtor Teaching at 1pm :
Have you ever wanted to learn to knit or crochet? Then come on over and spend a little time learning basic stitches! Do you knit or crochet, but consider yourself a beginner and want some tips? Come on over and ask your questions! Do you knit or crochet and want a place to hang out with others who do? Say no more! Come on over and bring your work! Do you do any other kind of handwork (weaving, spinning, sewing, lacemaking, etc) and want a spot to hang out and visit? Come on over! You’re more than welcome!
  • Magnifica Maire Bardic 101 @ 2pm
The one the ONLY Goddess of Comedia and Bard Extra-ordinaire will be teaching an introduction to Bardic arts/story telling! You will not want to miss this amazing class as they are always entertaining and informative! Come to learn and perhaps consider going for Bardic Champion in the future!
  •  Eibhlin inghean Fhionghuinne Illumination Children & Adults
    1. 11am to 12:30pm Children’s illumination class 1-2hrs Start their passions young! Teach them the joy and art of illumination!
    2. 1:30 to 2:30 for adult Illumination Scribal Class Curious yourself about illumination join the adult class and jump right in!!! Scribal arts are a great way to express your creative side!
  • Elisif: Heraldry 101 @ 11am 1 hr and Basics of Retinue 101 @ 1pm 1 hr
    1. First Heraldry 101– been confused about heraldry? have questons? just want to learn the basics! Come and join this class and learn from an amazing Herald  
    2. Basics of Retinue! Curious about Retinue? want to get involved? add to the pomp and circumstance! Have Questions or just curious! Come and get the information you seek!
  • Sigrid: 3:30-4pmish Make and Take Feather Paint Brushes. No cost. Donations to Heartwood Haven accepted on behalf of the Turkeys, ducks and chickens who donated feathers to the class. Come and learn how to make a true Medieval brush from feathers and hey drop a donation for a wonderful cause!!!
  • Sir Warren – 2pm-  Metal Enamal making! Will be teaching us how to make the glorious enameled Masterpieces that he has made for the barony nd many others! Come watch and learn- perhaps pick up a new hobby!!!
  • Lady Rosil Time TBD (Francisca) How to make “fake” stainglass!!! Acetate and patterns provided PLEASE bring ALCOHOL MARKERS!
  • Our Very own A&S Champion Owen will be Teaching an Intro To shoe patterning!!!! Time TBD 3hr Class 5$ for Supplies and 30-50$$ for lether is you want to start shoes!!
