SPECIAL NOTICE TO ALL CONTESTANTS!!!
Friday night features a bardic gathering (after the Consorts/Favors discussion, more info listed below) at the Eric where all entrants in the various contests may boast of their prowess in battle or on the range. This is so the Populace will know of your skill and exploits and cheer you on during your contest, but participation in the bardic is not required. At Saturday morning’s Court, Archery Champion and Heavy Defender entrants must declare their intent to enter the list and introduce their consort, if they have one. There will be a procession of contestants and consorts prior to the start of each contest (Archer, Defender and Rapier). Participants in the Highland Games will also have a procession before the start of the Games. Spectators in the Ladies’ Gallery (more information listed further down) may bestow a favor on the contestant of their choice. All entrants are requested to bring their personal device banner to display during the Court processional and on the Eric.

Archery Championship
This year’s contest will consist of three trials: (1) Royal Round (Standard royal round); (2) Dublin’s Elimination Shoot (Shoot 6 arrows. All arrows red or better allows you to shoot again. Any arrow outside red is eliminated. Rounds continue until only one shooter is left. One point per arrow, high score wins.); and (3) An Tirean Skeet (Archers get 12 combat arrows to shoot at armored fighters. Torso and head are kill shots. Scoring: 20 yds = 2 points, 30 yds = 3 points, 40 yds = 4 points)
Overall scoring: 20 points for 1st, 19 points for 2nd, etc. In each trial, the highest total score wins. In the event of a tie, a string shoot will be shot to determine the winner.
Volunteers needed: Three armored heavy fighters with hard protection to serve as targets in the An Tirean Skeet shoot.

Heavy Defender’s Tournament
Straight double-elimination with three weapon-styles: Sword and shield; Great sword; and Pole-arm over a barrier.
The weapon-styles will change each round in this order: Round 1 – sword and shield; Round 2 – Great sword; and Round 3 – Pole-arms over a barrier. Round 4 starts the weapons order over again with “sword and shield” and rounds continue through the weapons rotation until two fighters are left. Finals will be best two-out-of-three, using the three styles in the same order as stated above.
