The Site Owners and Event Steward have some
announcements:




Animals/ furry family on site:
  Registered
Service animals only. MUST HAVE VEST
ON!
 (except horses specifically brought
for equestrian activities of course). As to birds and small
animals. Use caution. There are large resident
raptors.




Weather:
 Please be prepared for wind.




Fire:
 There is a burn ban active.  As per the land
owner no open fires even within a fire pit.  Only propane,
charcoal and briquette fires.




Water:
 There is potable water available by the outside
horse stalls.




Tent stakes:
 Please make sure you have accounted for
and collected them all on Sunday.




EQUESTRIAN

You will need
to bring your own bedding and food. You can order these and have
them delivered by calling Black Lake Nursery & Feed (360) 878-8354.

Siege Cooking

Your keep has been under siege for a month! You go to the
kitchen and all you find is a vegetable, a fruit, a grain/pulse and
3 … no is that 5 herbs/spices?!?! How are you going to feed
your Lord and Lady with that?!! Wait! The Kitchen staff
haven’t come back from the cellars, maybe they found something! You
bring the above ingredients and we’ll have a mystery ingredient and
pantry items for you.
 






Iron Scribal



Help your barony win a war point!  Participants must pick up
their charters and instructions at the Arts and Science Pavilion on
Saturday between 8am to 9am. Their entries must be returned to
Arts and Science Pavilion by 2pm to HL Rosamond Winder. For
the Illuminators there will be three categories; apprentice,
journeyman and master. This year there will also be categories
for calligraphers and word smiths.



 






Iron Needle



Competitors need to bring their own sewing kits for this
competition.  You may choose to join a team to compete,
however no more than three people in a team.  Please report to
the Arts and Science Pavilion between 8am and 9am on Saturday to
receive instructions and materials for the competition, you will
have until 2pm to deliver your completed entries to HL
Rosamond Winder at the Arts and Science Pavilion. There are
two categories for you to choose to compete in; most items
made and most aesthetically pleasing.  Finished items will be
donated to Gold Key! You will also be earning your side a War
Point!!



 






Brewing Competition



This competition will be for a war point! Each participant may
only have one entry in one category. The categories are; beer,
wine/mead and cordials. Please include your name, who your war
point will go to, name of beverage, category, how old the entry is
and an ingredients list (we do not need the recipe). Please
drop off your entries for judging between 2pm and 2:30pm on
Saturday at the encampment of Squirrel and Otter.



 






Mustard Making Class



Have you ever wondered how mustard is made? Join HL Rosamond
Winder at 10am at the Arts and Science Pavilion for a hands on
class in mustard making. Please dress in clothing that you
don’t mind getting stained and a chair to sit upon. The
duration of the class is an hour and a half, cost
is $5 for
supplies.  Maximum # of students is eight, so please sign up
early by

MERCHANT INFO

Please note:

  • The sale of alcohol is not permitted. Live steel
    must not, and other items that may be dangerous should not, be sold
    to minors. 

  • Any recorded music should be low enough not to be
    heard outside your booth and should be limited to SCA-era
    music. 

  • There is no electricity on site. Portable toilets
    will be available. It is advised to bring your own water but
    potable water is available by the outside horse stalls.

  • The event staff is not able to provide help to
    you for setting up or taking down your booth. Please arrange for
    your own assistants. Please plan to unload your vehicle and remove
    it from the merchant area immediately after unloading.

  • Remember, please help us provide a wonderful
    experience for our guests. Please make every attempt to give your
    booth a period appearance, and create a period atmosphere in your
    booth. Everyone working in your booth must wear SCA-appropriate
    garb. Working at your trade while open is also appreciated. Smoking
    is permitted only in your own camping space. Please be
    considerate.
