Feast of St. Brigid

February
19th, 2011

Incipient Canton
of
Hauksgarðr

Sponsored by the
Barony of 3 Mountains

Hood River &
Wasco Counties, Oregon

The incipient Canton of
Hauksgarðr invites you to join us in celebrating the
approach of spring with the Feast of St. Brigid! Enjoy a day
of good food and good company as we recover from a dreary
winter with this lively potluck feast.

Bring along your latest
projects and join us in our Craft Corner. This is a prime
opportunity for learning a new skill, or passing along your
knowledge, as well as just getting some work done while in
good company. There will be some supplies available, but if
you have extra tools, we urge you to bring them along so that
everyone has a chance to try their hand at something
new.

Cold winters inside lead to
busy hands, and we want to see what you’ve been up to! We’re
holding a “First Result of a New Skill” contest. It could be
something you’ve started learning over the past few months,
or it could be something you pick up at the event! Just make
sure it’s the first thing you produced since you started
learning. Entries will judged by “Most impressive for a first
attempt.”

Sitting around warm hearths
this winter, veteran fighters have shared their wisdom with
the new generation. One such piece of wisdom is that
sometimes all that stands between you and certain bludgeoning
is a sturdy shield. With that in mind, we invite you to bring
these shields to receive the admiration of the populous.
We’ll have two categories for entries: “Most artfully
decorated” and “Most impressively battered,” both decided by
populous choice. Shields do not need to be fully functional
to enter the decoration contest, so feel free to bring along
your in-progress work.

We will be hosting a bag
raffle at this event.

Please bring your own
beverage, feast gear, table settings, and, if you like, a
comfortable chair. Site is discreetly wet.

Potluck contributions are by
mundane last name: A-M: Main dish, S-Z: Side Dish, N-R:
Desserts.

Please remember that some
people have food allergies, so please bring an ingredient
label for your dish.
