The College of Saint Bunstable invites one and all to find refuge from the long season of rain at its first full Feast Day of Saint Bunstable! This day of merriment and celebration will start at 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Ballard Oddfellows Hall and conclude at 9:30 PM. Festivities will include A&S classes, dancing (and dancing lessons), rapier combat and classes, and a sumptuous Renaissance-themed feast.  Please visit the College's web site at http://students.washington.edu/sca for the event's website and updates as the Feast Day approaches!

The site fee is $8/person and the feast is $7/person and the non-member surcharge will apply. Please make checks payable to "College of Saint Bunstable; SCA, Inc."

Please bring your own feast gear (cup, napkin, utensils and a plate) if planning on attending the feast. We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions if notified in advance, and vegetarian options will be available (advance notice would be appreciated).

Imprese: Symbols and Mottoes – 1:00 PM — Ursula Georges
Want to know which Italian nobleman came to a tournament with a rhino on his shield, find a symbol encapsulating your hopeless love, or choose a mysterious Latin motto for every occasion? Investigate imprese! The impresa was a symbolic picture combined with a motto. Imprese were used in tournament display, to decorate clothing, and more. We will discuss the origin and uses of imprese, with a particular emphasis on Italian Renaissance and Elizabethan tournaments, and end by brainstorming personal imprese and ways to display them.

Italian Bodice Fitting – 3:00 PM — Raffaella diContino
Always wanted a nice, correctly fitted bodice but didn't know where to start? This hands-on class will go over the basics of fitting a bodice, from taking measurements, to drafing a patterning and fitting the pattern pieces.

Early Italian (15th Century) Dance – 1:00 PM — Cecily Wytherlok
Dances taught will include Petit Rien, Anello, and Rostiboli Gioioso.

Early and Late Italian (15th and 16th Century) Dance – 3:00 PM — Cecily Wytherlok
Dances taught will include Amoroso, Gelosia, and Gracca Amorosa.
