East Meets West Equestrian Pilgrimage and Challenge

An equestrian event for the whole family! The pilgrimage is a 1 1/2 hour guided trail ride in which you will learn the perils of the roads and visit roadside “shrines” of various cultures along the way.

Bring a lunch, picnic area available for before or after your pilgrimage.

In the covered arena, there will be an afternoon of equestrian competition. On Sunday, there will be a challenge course with prizes. Other activities, such as classes, displays, etc. are planned.

SCHEDULE
FRIDAY: Site opens at 7 p.m. for haul-ins.

SUNDAY:
9:00 AM Site opens. Sign-in and waivers
10:30 AM First set of pilgrims meet at the corral!
11 AM First pilgrims leave.
Noon Displays, informal lectures, things to pass the time
1 PM Second set of pilgrims meet at the corral!
1:30 PM Pilgrims leave!
4 PM Arena opens (quick set up help needed!)
ASAP Equestrian demos including: equestrian archery,
jousting, classic riding, reeds, and threading the needle.
7 PM Site closes for the night

SUNDAY
9:00 AM Site opens. Sign-in and waivers
List opens for challenge course
10:30 AM Pilgrims and challengers meet at the corral!
11 AM First pilgrims leave.
Arena opens for qualifications and warm ups.
12:30 PM The challenge course begins as soon as pilgrims return.
4 PMish Closing gathering
6 PM Site closes for the night

FEES AND RENTALS

NOTE: FEES TO LANGS ARE PAID SEPARATELY FROM SITE FEE.

SCA site fee: $5 member/$8 non-members. Children under 12, $3 (paid to Shire of Midhaven, SCA Inc.)

Haulin Fee: $10 per day (paid directly to Langs)
Stabling Fee: $15 per day (paid directly to Langs)
Rental Fees: Trailride $38 (paid directly to Langs) See www.comeride.com for limitations and guidelines.
$48 for Sunday competition rental. (paid directly to Langs)

Notes to haulins – Current shots, including 5-Way (includes Rhino, Flu, Tetanus, East. & West. Encephalitus) West Nile Virus, Strangles, and Coggins Test. Please bring proof.

MOTELS
There are several hotels in the Mt. Vernon/Burlington area
within 10-15 minutes of the site. We usually stay at the Comfort
Inn in Burlington.
