Oct. 5, 2002 Tri-cities Washington We, in the Barony of
WasteKeep wish to invite you to an event that will pay
tribute to our founding Baron and Baroness, Sir Dyon and
Mistress Catriona. Both of them have shown through their
examples of Honor, Grace and Chivalry, the dream that is the
SCA. For this we wish to thank them. Sir Dyon in a desire to
emphasize the importance of small unit combat has added a few
twists to the traditional tournament format for this year. He
wishes all to come and fight till you drop, but, most
importantly, HAVE FUN! Sir Dyon has added a five-man team
Bear Pit melee Tournament to the traditional open field
combat and castle battles this year. The five man teams will
be randomly selected by the Ladies of the Court prior to the
start of the fighting, Sir Dyon having become frustrated at
having to dodge pikes last year, has outlawed the use of
weapons taller then himself (6’5”). All fighters
must present their Armoured Body, Authorization Card, and
Membership Card at the list. Authorizations will be held
before the start of the combat for those who need to update
their authorizations. Non-member waivers will be enforced for
those who do not hold current SCA membership cards to be
eligible for any combat. Prizes for Best Death, The Ladies
Gallery Choice for Chivalry, and prizes for the Five man Bear
Pit Melee Tournament. The Days Fighting will include: First
Scenario – Five-Man Bear Pit Prize Tournament 2 teams battle
melee style. The victorious team will retain deaths and
injuries and fight the next team. The defeated teams will
lineup for another chance to be victorious. The scoring for
this scenario will be as follows: One (1) point will be given
for each team victory. Three (3) points will be given to the
team who holds the field the longest. This tournament
scenario will be 1.5 hours long. Second Scenario – Open Field
Battle Sir Dyon will combine the 5 man teams to create 2
armies. Each side will pick from among their members a
commander who will lead their side to victory. This will be a
no resurrection, best 2 out of 3 melee. Third Scenario –
Castle battle The 2 armies will alternate attacking and
defending the castle. This will be the traditional unlimited
resurrection battle. This scenario is fight till your tired.
A recently added fighting event is for the Rapier Fighters.
Please come and join us in Dyon’s brother’s Tavern for a
Tavern Brawl. Jack may or may not be there but he is sure to
have enjoyed the fun! There will be prizes in several
catagories. Evening festivities will include a Served
Mediterranean Feast, to aid the Feastocrat, it is requested
that those wishing to participate in the feast, Please
Pre-Register by dropping a note to the autocrat at
dairine_tm@lycos.com. We wish to invite all to attend the
festivities; even those who may not wish to participate in
the feast. If making sweets is in your blood, a subtlety
contest has been order by our Feastocrat to honor our
founders. Please help us to surprise our Honored Guests.
There will be Dancing before and after the feast. During the
feast to entertain the room, we have requested any with a
Bardic flare to step up and entertain us! All are welcome as
we think the more the merrier! During the day at the fighting
site, Mistress Marcia will be holding the Veggie Animal
Sculpture contest. In the evening, the Baronial Arts and
Sciences Championship will be held, the winner will be
announced during the court. PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE – Saturday –

Closes – 4 pm A&S Championship Starts – 5 pm
Dancing will start prior to the start of the feast as people
arrive at the hall. Feast – 6pm Court – 8pm Site

the Autocrat. Fighting Site: Columbia Park Campground, 6515
Columbia Drive, SE , Kennewick WA. 99336 Directions: Take you
best route to Kennewick. Exit from Hwy 395 only Hwy 240. Take
Edison exit towards the river. At intersection turn left
(west) onto Columbia Drive. Campground is ~ 1 mile ahead on
the left. Indoor Site: Kennewick Masonic Lodge, 601 W. 6th
Ave., Kennewick WA. 99336 Directions: From Columbia Park, go
back to 240 East and stay on it through the bridge
interchange. You will be going into the old part of Kennewick
on Columbia drive. Go to the second stoplight (Washington
Ave.). Turn right. Go through one stoplight. You will find
your self going up a slight hill after about three blocks. Go
to the top of the hill and take the next right. This will be
6th Ave. Go through 2 stop signs and ½ block on the
