Remember Archery Fest?  Well This is it!  We changed the name to Vulcanalia and expanded the scope. UPDATE: We are excited to announce that Baron Ulrich Hellelicht and Baroness Fiona ingen Conchobair will be holding Their FIRST COURT at Vulcanalia!

A full slate of archery activities will happen in the North Field as always; including:  York, Clout, Flight, IKAC, IKCAC, “Light, You’re Dead” (where we shoot floo-floo arrows at a moving bear target) many novelty shoots sponsored by the OGGS (with a prize for the most fun), Thrown Weapons, possible Atl atl (if you bring your own Marshal) Siege Weapons and Equestrian Archery. Archery Equipment Inspection and Children’s Archery Classes will be offered as well. Since we will have our new Baronage, the Baronial Protector and probably also the Youth Protector Archery Championships will be held!  Please see Facebook Event Page for the Schedule.

Likewise, we will hold our Heavy and Rapier Championships as well! Youth Armored Combat (YAC) practice will be held!  Arts & Sciences A&S Contests and Largess Trio Contest will be for prizes (A&S Championships will be held at Yule). Cut and Thrust fun can also happen (if you bring your own Marshal). We are expanding to use the Stage/Shelter area across from the Ag. Museum for these additional activities on Saturday.

To kick off our Saturday evening festivities, we’re having (an admittedly not very Medieval) Best Volcano A&S contest (for the young and the young at heart)!  Then a BBQ Pot Luck & Bardic (see below) and a Vulcanalia themed TOGA PARTY with a Belly Dancing Class and some festive beverages shared.

Notes:  Pets are allowed On a Leash and Pick up After them PLEASE.  There is a County-wide BURN BAN until Sept. 30th.  NO CAMPFIRES.  Propane Braziers and Cookstoves are ALLOWED; however, of course they must be attended at ALL TIMES and and Fire Extinguisher Must be HANDY.

SCHEDULE: Please see our Facebook Event Page:    http://fb.me/e/3cuLPHU9y

Then we are having a Pot Luck featuring Barbequed Foods.  Roasted beast and vegan entries should be cooked separately, as should any gluten-free options (please bring ingredients cards for food allergy considerations). During the Feast, we’re having a fun Bardic Contest for a prize!

Then we’re having a Vulcanalia themed TOGA PARTY on Saturday night, where Roman-inspired Garb is encouraged (but the authenticity police are not) and Festive Beverages may be discretely shared. Volunteer Information

Baroness Fiona ingen Conchobair not only needs help with Gate on Friday, we need someone to RUN Gate on Saturday!  And Ciosa will need help with Lists, please!   Many hands are always appreciated for set up and take down!  MANY Target Archery Marshals are needed to run all of the shoots.  Should there be an interest in Cut & Thrust we would need a marshal for that.  NOTE: during the plague times many Marshaling Warrants and Fighter’s Authorization Cards have expired.  Please be sure that yours are up to date.  We realize there is a bit of bottle-neck due to the dearth of those able to authorize such, so don’t wait till the last minute.

Interested Merchants should contact Ryan Wolf, the Merchant Coordinator at: leomoons@hotmail.com
