Come
celebrate Hartwood’s 26th Birthday the weekend of
Sept 18-20th, in Black Creek!
This will be Hartwood’s Heavy Championship!
This will be Hartwood’s Archery Championship!
Come test your mettle! If not up for the challenge, come cheer on
the competitors!
HL Azemar is bringing instructors for the Arts of
War!
HL Seamus is bringing opportunities to learn and be authorized in
Rapier!
And I heard rumours of other Archery happenings such as a
Popinjay Shoot and a Sunday morning York
Round!
But wait… There’s more!
Hartwood is a quarter of a century old… so this will be
Hartwood’s 26th anniversary of the first event. There will be a
sweet treat for your delictation! The Bardic
Circle will be the site of your songs and tales of
Hartwood’s early years! (Remember the two rules…?) [Edit:
Depending on fire conditions. If someone has a propane firepit we
could use, would you send me a note? Thanks]
Lady Athelina brings “Medieval Minutes” (source:
Helene Cazes)!
Here’s how it works: Everyone prep a short, two to five
minute, talk on “Did you know this cool thing? Let me show/tell you
how it works.” It can be about anything medieval. You can show off
an A&S project, talk about bycockets, a period fighting
technique, a recipe, anything. We get in a circle (or, if there are
lots of people, maybe a couple circles) and go around the circle
sharing our awesome thing. Bring two or three things if you like.
Athelina will guide us.
Lord ‘Arold, as Shire Herald (‘Arold the ‘Erald?),
will have a consult table for you to design your
device and maybe even get you started on registering it. He will
have assistance of other heralds, too!
The An Tir Embellishers’ Guild will accept Rank
Challenges at the Junior and Senior Student levels, meeting at the
Inn; time to be determined.
Details:
Site fee is $15/adult, plus NMS of $5. (Youth and
children are free!)
Gate opens 4 p.m. on Friday, and closes 2 p.m. on
Sunday (subject to Azemar’s schedule).
Location is on private property on MacAuley Road; drive
carefully down the driveway. (Note that Google map is a
wee bit off, so get yourself to Macaulay Rd and follow the
road.)
There are two septic fields that must not have traffic over them;
they will be marked.
Parking is tight; please be efficient in situating
your wagon!
Water is from a well; please bring your own if you
think you might have issues. Potable water is available in jugs,
and wash water from “The Inn”.
Power is available from “The Inn” and from the house for those who
need to power CPAPs and such.
Dogs are welcome; however, An Tir leash laws are in effect; please
